Bastrop State Park, located about 30 miles east of Austin, is a beautiful and peaceful retreat in the unique Lost Pines ecosystem. The park is spacious and scenic, with over 6,600 acres of pine forest, trails, and wildlife. We stayed at Site 77 and had a great time — the site was clean, quiet, and conveniently located.
So many trails to choose from! We only had time to hike one trail but I wish we would've been able to stay the day. My son loved seeing all of the lizards. They were everywhere! We will definitely be coming back to see more of the park
Bastrop State Park is such a great spot for families and anyone who enjoys being outdoors. The playscape was awesome for the kids, the restrooms were very clean and well maintained, and the nature trails were beautiful and peaceful. We loved walking through the pine trees and enjoying the scenery.
Beautiful Texas State Park with lots of hiking options, which I really appreciate. The views are beautiful. I never saw it after the fires but from my uneducated eye, it seems to be recovering well. My photos are from a month ago. I bet it's even prettier in the fall. Lot's of history.
