Confirmed from Beaver Brook Reservation's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

A wonderful nature preserve in Belmont, good for walking, playing, or taking in nature during all the seasons. My favorite part is the hiking/walking trail network.

This is my daughter and I's FAVORITE park! I first began taking her here when she was a baby and I, a new mother. I would put her in her stroller and we would take our time walking down the asphalt path which surrounds the main park. It is an easy walk through and it has some breathtaking scenes.

Beaver Brook Reservation is right off the road but, easy to drive past. Once you park, you can walk a few paths/trails. I've only visited this reservation twice, so I'm really not sure what else they have to offer. I do enjoy watching & listening to the falls though.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
