Confirmed from Bedwell Bayfront Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Large bayside park with expansive open spaces for flying kites & several hiking trails.
What runners say about Bedwell Bayfront Park
“There's plenty of parking available, and the restrooms are clean with good water access for hand washing.”
“Bedwell Bayfront Park is a beautiful spot to enjoy views of the Bay, located less than a mile from Highway 101.”
“This is great family park, good for running, hiking, riding bikes and even kayaking if the tide is high enough!”
“Since the park is an open space with little shade, it's best to bring water and a hat.”
“There are a few "campers" here, but everyone seemed pretty peaceful.”
Updating review: I had previously only been to the park when it was desert-y and dry—but still beautiful. Today it was luscious and green and lovely in a different way. Plenty of parking. Access to a public restroom. A few benches for resting. Stroller-friendly, but bumpy. A nice place to wander aimlessly.
Hidden gem with a great view of the bay. Everything is green and blooming with all the rain lately. The main (Spirit) trail has a poem with rock formations laid out along the way to match the poem. There are lots of trails across and around the whole park.
A nice good size urban park that you can see the San Francisco Bay. Very beautiful. Some beautiful wildflowers on the trails. Parking is relatively easy. The reason that this isn’t 5-star is because it is a bit too flat for me. Also, no shade at all. Could be hot in the summer.
Interesting park. It's quite... flat, but also hilly? If you walk to the far eastern/northeastern edge, there are fences, rotted wood, and marshlands. Kind of a grim sight in poor weather conditions.
Trail conditions & character
“Choose the flat putter path for an easy 2 mile walk or make your way up the hill paths to meander and take in the bay views.”
“The hiking is tame, but there are some small hills to trek and the many trails give frequent opportunity to stay on the flat or make a small climb.”

“I’d like there to be more park rangers monitoring the park for visitors with off leash dogs to ensure they follow the rules.”
