Confirmed from Belle Isle Marsh Reservation's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Belle Isle Marsh Reservation

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (578 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“Beautiful at sunset, covered with snow and wildlife tracks, haunted by the cries of geese as they land.”

Went there over Thanksgiving - such a vast place, as if you're in another world from Boston downtown. It was cold, humid, and windy (so need to be careful of quick lose of power for your cell phone).

★★★★★ — Wanyu , Dec 2024

A lovely place to stroll. The salt-water marsh is completely different terrain than just a few miles away. It's a nice place to go for a walk and spot wildlife.

★★★★★ — Arel , Sep 2023

Nice 45-minute walk around the salt marsh. Interesting place, enjoyed the views and the tower. Nice views of Boston skyline and Logan takeoffs.

★★★★☆ — Dan , Feb 2020

Beautiful marsh reservation with walking paths and trails. 🍁 More nature please! 🌳 🤗

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
