Confirmed from Berkeley Jackson County Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

A girlscout just re-did the trails for her gold award and it's now AWESOME! She cleared trails, clearly marked 7 in different colors so no more getting lost, created a digital map and posted the QR code for the map at each entrance. There are nice, clear signs to orient you in the park now.

Jurassic park island or county park in the middle of Huntington? In parts of Berkeley Jackson, that’s hard to be sure. The ferns and thick tree growth along the winding walking paths shield you completely from civilization. Unless a plane flies overhead, you’d have no idea that the woods are only a half mile deep.

Rough wooded area tucked behind a well to do neighborhood. There are a bunch of trails throughout. Great for trail running or biking. Not very well groomed, but trails are clear. Powered vehicles prohibited. Some broken glass around; most likely from wild parties. Check for ticks after!

Nestled in the Elwood neighborhood, it is a nice place for a peaceful walk in the 'wilderness', but you are never too far from civilization. There are many paths that should take several visits to walk them all.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 5 mentions

“This is a beautiful setting to walk for a few miles and take your dog along in a peaceful setting.”
