Confirmed from Berkeley Lake Trails' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Berkeley Lake Trails
There is no parking lot or sign. You park on the side of the road and walk in about 20 yards to the trailhead. Nice trails.
Very good trails in this area! There is a creek ran by the hillside that you walk on. They sadly do not allow any vehicles such as bikes. But it is a great walking trail that me, and my dog enjoyed!
I really enjoyed hiking the Berkeley Lake Trails. There is so much nature to explore! I enjoyed the trees and the trails have a few hills that are a little challenging. The view of the lake is very satisfying and peaceful. My only complaint is there is no place to park.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
