Confirmed from Betty Virginia Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Winding, 23-acre park offering a short trail, picnic tables, a playground & other features.
What runners say about Betty Virginia Park
“, but the staff was professional, the park was nice and clean.”
“I personally believe that this is the most beautiful park in Shreveport!”
“There were a diverse group of people here; old, young, dog-walking, baby-strolling, etc.”
This is a really nice park. A good sized walking trail and decent sized playground. Parking was easy and the area is really nice. Park is obviously well kept.
I personally believe that this is the most beautiful park in Shreveport! The large grassy fields are frequently maintained and freshly manicured. There is LOTS of space for any and everything—from intimate family picnics or play dates to large events with numerous people.
A very beautiful park. Great for walking, running or even sitting by oneself.
It's nice and spacious grass on one side and the other side has a playground. My dog and I had fun walking around. They also have doggy cleanup trashcans. But they were out of bags when I went, so be sure to bring your own 😊 There's 3 bridges and a concrete drainage canal that's I think about 3 ft deep.

Plan your run at Betty Virginia Park
The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
