Confirmed from Veterans Memorial Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Relaxed park with a memorial honoring veterans, plus a skateboard area.

What runners say about Veterans Memorial Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (225 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

It’s hard to tell where the disc golf course ends and the memorial begins but it’s very nice! There’s a large statue and it’s very professional. The park shares a parking lot with the disc golf course so there’s lots of parking available. It’s handicap accessible with paved walkways to the memorial

Honestly this is my favorite area to be in shreveport. So. Much. Nature. Anyone who's a local knows all the cool trails across the street in the woods/forest there. I've gone for years to hangout, explore, and adore mother nature

★★★★★ — Tifany , Oct 2020

Pretty clean, lots of parking space, frisbee park and close to a nice bicycle trail and paved trail, marked every 1/2 mile to keep track of your travel distance. Also close to the skateboard park.

★★★★★ — Arcadio , Jul 2021

Nice place to walk and enjoy nature. There are little trails that go along the river that are neat to stroll.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
