Confirmed from Bicentennial Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Bicentennial Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (87 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 4 mentions

“They have very clean play areas, the grass and upkeep of the park seems to be taken care of weekly.”

Great local hiking spot. Kids and pet friendly. Take bug spray the woods are full of biting flies and mosquitoes!

★★★★☆ — Kip , Jun 2022

4 out of 5 paw prints. Nice trail, mostly paved, although there is some unpaved parts for the disc golf course. I guess that’s for hoomans that wanna throw frisbees but don’t have doggos to catch ‘em. Lots of trees to sniff and pee on. A few ponds to ponder swimming in. Mom said no.

★★★★☆ — Cal , Sep 2022

Great park in West Belleville! They have some paved trails and a nice disc golf course that also serves as a walking trail with some steepish inclines. Some of the disc golf holes are pretty heavily wooded but the distances are pretty short.

Great little park for taking walk or get together‘s with family. Not much else to complain about, sometimes if you undesirables in here but very rarely .

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🛣️ Paved surface 3 mentions

“I visited to walk the AllTrails Bicentennial Park Loop and found a nice trail with a mix of natural and paved that winds its way around several water features.”

Plan your run at Bicentennial Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
