Confirmed from Laderman Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Tranquil park featuring a playground, swings and sculptures, plus trees, a trail and a soccer field.
What runners say about Laderman Park
“It has always been kept clean, I can't find a reason for someone not to bring their kids or family here.”
“I grew up going to baseball practice here in the shaded spots while several other sports teams practiced all around us.”
“I walk my dogs here frequently and think its probably my personal favorite in the area.”
Laderman Park is a staple to the Belleville area. I grew up going to baseball practice here in the shaded spots while several other sports teams practiced all around us.
Great park. But the drinking fountains need fixing. Also the path is pretty worn. Has a playground and a mile track. Good for dog walking. Just don't expect it to be tidy.
Medium-sized neighborhood park with two ball diamonds, a playground, & modern calisthenic stations along a nice relatively short & curvy walking trail.
I visited to walk the AllTrails Laderman Park Loop and found an asphalt walkway around an old, established park with a couple of athletic fields and lot of old-growth trees. Because of the shade, it would be a good place to walk on a hot day.

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
