Confirmed from Big Shoal Greenway Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Big Shoal Greenway Trailhead
This is a nice easy walk from Trailhead to Brighten Ave. Very pretty and mostly flat. You do cross two streets and pass a couple homes but mostly secluded and minimal foot traffic.
I walked about 2 1/2 miles. Started at North Indiana in the lot by the ball fields and walked east until I reached North Brighton and back. It's a concrete sidewalk. I saw several deer in the woods. Theres a stream that parallels the trail.
Nice park, new concrete multi use trail, good long walk or reasonable recreational bike length. Not very many benches yet and no public picnic tables yet, either. Hopefully those are coming.
I like this trail for it being so close to the creek and the beautiful trees around and the birds and animals that you can hear and see.
Trail conditions & character
“The trail is nice, but the "trailhead" and parking is in the middle of it, and it's not a loop, so it's not the best location for it.”
