Confirmed from Big Shunga Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Sizable green space featuring trails, a BMX track, a baseball field & play equipment.
What runners say about Big Shunga Park
“The trail is well kept and shared by joggers, walkers, and cyclists without any issues.”
They have great nature trails and playgrounds. I had the best time there, but my bike would say something different. The cement trails were always lopsided and Ricky. When I ride my bike I would like the trail to be smooth not filled with potholes I have to dodge, but either way I enjoyed my time.
Things are going great for this park. There are some hidden bike and hike trails with a great jump park that is being built by the public. It is all volunteer work so please keep it clean and in good condition.
The trail is paved and runs about 8 miles in length. It follows a winding creek and borders several parks scattered through out Topeka. Lots of flora and fauna to observe along the trail. The trail is well kept and shared by joggers, walkers, and cyclists without any issues.
Nice park. Lot larger than it looks. Frisbee golf, BMX track, miles of cement trails, some dirt trails. Also some areas around MacVicar to explore that are off trail. Topeka has bikes you can rent at Crestview community center on trails that you can ride around park.
