Confirmed from Crestview Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Well-kept park featuring a disc golf course, playground, baseball diamond, tennis court and BMX track.
What runners say about Crestview Park
“Nice and quiet trail for a run in a cold winter morning; has both paved and unpaved trails along a small creek”
Great ride, this park also has Frisbee golf area as well as the trail, good solid trail.
I consider myself as one of many denizens of Shunga Trail. Since I ride a mobility scooter, sometimes you have to find a way around things like this tree down about a month ago. This completely blocked the concrete trail, but access around was available. My hat goes off to Tom and his Parks and Rec crews.
Found this gem of a park in Topeka. The trail is beautiful and follows the Shunga Creek. Lots of disc golf players, and people walking and riding. Well kept with lots of activities to choose from.
This is a good recreational area in the heart of Topeka. Trails, tennis court, softball field, and many other activities. The community center is offers plenty of rooms for a variety of activities. The basketball court is really nice.

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
