One of the best hikes in the local area. 4 miles out and back, well maintained and it's impossible to get lost. Good way to spend a few hours enjoying the great outdoors.
The Felsman Loop is one of my favorite hikes in San Luis Obispo. It is a mild and beautiful hike! Great for beginner hikers, runners, seasonal wildflower sitings, walking dogs, and children. I personally love to take friends and family on this hike when they come to visit.
Well marked trail head all the way up, with a few small rock scrambles that made it a moderate hike. At the end of the marked trail you can keep climbing up large rocks to get to the true peak, but it is a bit slippery and requires some careful footing.
Love this place! Fantastic place to get your exercise in. The hike difficulty is medium and the only tough part is when you get to the top and you can actually climb up couple of boulder rocks to see the views. You don’t need hiking boots but definitely shoes with good soles with grip.
