Confirmed from Black Hawk Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Rustic 1,490-acre green space with campgrounds & river access, plus a popular gun & archery range.
What runners say about Black Hawk Park
“Shutdown the road the gun and bow and arrow ranges are well kept, and there is also a very nice ramp for launching yaks and boats with lots of parking .”
“The trail is often under water in a few spots and only mowed a few times a year, but if your up for the hike it's very quiet and peaceful.”
I wish this campground took reservations. We biked thru on the bike trail. Nice spaces, clean & quiet. And the shower house on the bridge was neat!
Great park!!! Lots to do!!! Right on the river for great fishing!! Great shooting range! Camping and playgrounds! Always clean when I go there!! There is a smaller pond by the river before the big parking lot that is great for catching panfish and even small pike (so great for kids) LOTS of turtles so please watch…
Blackhawk is a great county park, easy access, all hard surface roads to the camping area. There are about 30 unreservable rv sites, half full hookups, the others electric only with water nearby. They also have a large grass area with electric only that you can park as you like.
Great county park with lots of activities. Full RV hook ups and tent camping and bike trails. Has a boat ramp with Cedar River access. Offers a free shooting range with nice benches for short and long range, trap, and archery. Lots of picnic pavilions to host small gatherings. Super cool park ranger
