We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Black Hill yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Black Hill
“Beautiful moss filled trees, and a fantastic view of the fog peeling back to the sea.”
Great walk. We parked in the Lott near the clubhouse and walked the road. It was early and golfers were playing in thick fog. Beautiful moss filled trees, and a fantastic view of the fog peeling back to the sea.
Only has less than 10 parking spots. Short walk to the top. The view is beautiful.
Accidentally found this scanning over google maps. Drove through a golf course and up a narrow, windy road where it dead ends with very limited unmarked parking area. Went about noon on a Thursday in May and there was 1 other car.
Parking lot is limited, but it’s a great out and back trail. We took the exercise loop and went up black hill trail, and then took grove trail on the way back and linked back to exercise trail -back to parking lot. Bring hat and water- the trail is partially shady but gets really hot. Some breeze, great views up top!
