Confirmed from Blue Heron Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Long nature trails winding by playgrounds and disc golf courses, plus picnic tables.
What runners say about Blue Heron Park
“One of the nicer parks I've been to lately, very well-kept.”
“Omg, this is one of the most beautiful park in Indiana.”
Great Ride with the family. The greenway is really nice and well marked. Lots of playgrounds for the kids to stop and play on.
Omg, this is one of the most beautiful park in Indiana. I loved it. For walk, for cycling, for photography for family fun like birthday parties very good place.
Pretty little trail that takes you from different housing additions to a play park. And then the trail goes under US 31 (lived in area for 15+yrs & didn't know a trail went under US 31!!) & goes over to the big cemetery to continue the trail to another big play park with an amphitheater.
Nice little park. Has paved trails and a little pond. It looked like there are a couple of playgrounds, those areas were pretty busy when we went. But it's I peaceful little park

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
