Confirmed from Bolsa Chica Conservancy's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Great place to go, its family friendly but no dogs allowed.”

This was a place to take a walk. The tails were maintained and the views were breathtaking. The wildlife is fun to watch. It is a photographer's dream place for portraits or landscapes. We had a great time.

Great place to go, its family friendly but no dogs allowed. I would give this hike 5 stars but a few people brought their dogs ignoring the rules of the trail. There was a full doggy poop bag left at one area. This is a preservation meant to help bring back an ecosystem that was destroyed years ago.

★★★★☆ — Outdoors , Jan 2021

Update: new improvements at the center, bathrooms and also new growth areas are coming in well and strong. Rear to the park has seen significant construction and new park with new community has gone well. Over, the park is doing great. Areas are non bike non drone and no pets.

Located near Huntington Beach, Bolsa Chica is a unique spot where nature and industry exist side by side. Interesting fact: Oil drilling began here in the 1920s under Standard Oil (now Chevron), and even though the area was declared an ecological reserve in 2000, oil operations still continue due to old contracts.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
