Confirmed from Bonneville Shoreline Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Bonneville Shoreline Trailhead
“Easy trail that winds along the foothills where the shore of Bonneville Lake used to be, roughly, along the whole valley”
An easy trail that is mostly flat with areas of slight incline. There are several trails heads along the shoreline trail if you want something more challenging. This trail goes on for miles, you can hike for as long or as short as you’d like
Nice trail to walk on from an amateur hiker from San Diego. Good walk and there's loads of trails and view of the city. Nice view of snow capped mountains (melting ones) yet in July! Christmas in July, ahh I get it.
There is a flat, wide service road that leads out from the trailhead, but it appears that the actual Bonneville Shoreline trail is the single track (double at times) trail that follows the east side of the road.
Parking is available in a gravel covered dead-end area. There are multiple trails easily accessible. Some are animal trails. The shoreline trail is the easiest to traverse. You can decide how far you want to go in either direction.

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
