Confirmed from Brookfield Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Grassland and woodland park featuring paved trails for biking and walking plus unpaved paths for hiking.
What runners say about Brookfield Park
“Had a great walking experience along the Hudson, clean and green.”
“It does look like a sanctuary with a gorgeous view on the river and some woods in the backdrop (save for the annoying safety fence that ruins some of the views).”
“A great park for walking, jogging, cycling, rollerblading and bird watching.”
“Keep in mind, there is no bathroom and if it's hot out, there is no shade.”

Clean, beautiful views, very slight inclines. Bug parking lot. Great place to ride your bike. Could use more signage for how to get to paths.
Ideal open area for walkers / joggers . A total of four trails. Barren landscape with the occasional pine sapling and tall tumbleweeds. Wetlands area empties into Richmond creek— former landfill. An abandoned house from the early 1900s sits adjacent to park .
What a great park for a walk, or a bike ride. Wide paved trails provide plenty of room for both to share the way. Two levels (upper and lower "mounds") provide ever changing views of mother nature scenery as you go around. There are no restrooms or drinking fountains, so go before you go, and bring a drink.
Trail conditions & character
“I came here with my dog in the middle of April and mind you we stayed on the outer PAVED trail but dog still ended up with TICKS!”
“It does look like a sanctuary with a gorgeous view on the river and some woods in the backdrop (save for the annoying safety fence that ruins some of the views).”
“The only garbage cans are around the parking lot, so if you bring a dog, you have to carry any "deposits" back with you.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
