Confirmed from Brown's Creek Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Public park with a playground, picnic tables, and paved and dirt trails for walking, biking, and horseback riding.
What runners say about Brown's Creek Park
“The trail was well kept, nicely shaded, roomy and very smooth.”
“Planty of beautiful wildlife with great fishing spots if you plan to fish there.”
“Small park with small playground, shade trees, and many connecting bike paths.”
Awesome little park with a playground and a bicycle repair station right at the park. But what I really enjoyed about Brown's creek Park is the state trail that goes through the park. This park is an awesome place to park and access the trail from. The trail is open to walking/running/dog-walking, biking and horses.
You can get right on the bike / walking Path. Has a playground for children and picnic tables with one shelter.
Nice biking trail! -- Brown's Creek State Trail Lots of trees to shade you and very scenic.
Brown's Creek Trail is core to my rollerski training. The slight uphill serves as my uphill time trial course. When it connects to the gateway, the option for a quiet wooded ski or a more intense mix of prairies and park-like conditions make this a chose your own adventure.
Trail conditions & character
“There is parking and a bike maintenance area as well as water fountains and a park for kids.”

“Great staging place to bike, hike, walk the dogs on the Brown's Creek state trail both to downtown Stillwater doing the bridge loop or towards Duluth junction.”
“Park at the trailhead, which has water and a portapotty.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
