We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of St. Croix Boom Site River Trail Waterfall yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about St. Croix Boom Site River Trail Waterfall
“There’s no water in the falls right now, though, so it’s not as scenic a destination as I assume it usually is.”
There looks like there could be a waterfall right at the bottom of the stairs but the actual waterfall is about 1/2 mile down the river. Sure wish people didn’t graffiti the area.
The waterfall was pretty non-existent when I was there, but it had been very dry. There is a cave that seems to be man-made. This is an actual hike with trees over the trail and rocks to climb on, but it's a short hike. Very cool trail right along between the river and the rocks.
Pup and I had fun scrambling around the trails and beaches here. There’s no water in the falls right now, though, so it’s not as scenic a destination as I assume it usually is. The one complaint I have isn’t about the park so much as it is about those who have visited it.
Great falls but the trail is rough be sure to bring a good pair of shoes. Very narrow trails would not recommend bringing kids with if possible. But as a solo little hike, was pretty sweet!
