Confirmed from Bunker Hill Natural Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Nice easy hike but still had some nice views along the way”

I grew up in a neighborhood around Bunker Hill Road. I have been exploring the surrounding area during my runs and found out that they now have marked hiking trails around the preserve. Great to see that there are now marked trails to explore the preserve.

Great walking/birding area. I only had enough time to explore the Yellow Trail, but I can assume the other trails are nice as well. Some trail blazes are not so up-to-date, but I did not struggle getting around. I would recommend bringing high-viz clothing during bow-hunting season. Small parking lot, dog friendly.

Great place to hike and run with a small parking lot and we'll marked trails. You can't really get lost and there are lots of places to explore especially if you have younger children whole enjoy running water and streams. A little muddy at times but that's part of being in nature.

We have enjoyed two seasons of the free Forest School going to the bunker hill Natural Area. We enjoy the walk to the water. It’s a nice clear walking path. Getting to the water is relatively easy with small kids. The water is flat and easy for them to walk around.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
