Love going here all year round. The hike around the pond is a perfect one for all age groups. We bring our kayaks when the weather permits & can stay in them for hours just exploring or taking in the fresh air.
Nice swimming area, a few geese but not enough to foul the water or beach, lots of picnic tables, and a big covered pavilion. I just stopped by for a scenic lunch but it's a nice spot to cool off. Plenty of parking, but plan to walk a minute or two to the beach.
Burr Pond State Park is a very beautiful and peaceful park. The pond is the showstopper here, hence the name. Driving up to the park was enjoyable; there's a big hill with a small waterfall you can see from the street. The parking area was a decent size but I can see it being packed in the summer and on weekends.
I was there on 4/12/21 and the place was in preparations to open for the season with a small friendly crew leaf blowing and cleaning up. Myself and a few other visitors came and went, some picnicking others fishing 🎣. I just enjoyed a short walk with my dog.
