My favorite trail in the Birmingham Metro! It’s right along the Cahaba River. There are two canoe and kayak launches close to the entry point below the road. There is a VERY steep hill down to the trail, BUT once you are at the bottom, the trail would be fairly wheelchair accessible.
This is a nice quiet place to take a nice walk and check out the river there are nice benches to sit on and picnic tables for a rest or even having a picnic the scenery is so nice. I love just listening to the river and nature.
Great place to get to the Cahaba. The parking area fills up pretty quickly and unfortunately not all users pay attention and often you can find cars that are blocked in. The path to the Cahaba is concrete, well maintained but quite steep.
A modest trail that is partially paved, but full of beautiful foliage. Even past where the trail turns to gravel, there are picnic tables and areas to access the water. There seem to be multiple branches of the trail to wander off on and explore!
