Confirmed from Campbell Mesa Loop Trails' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Campbell Mesa Loop Trails

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (267 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“Beautiful scenery, not too hot, not a lot of people - but we also got there early.”

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“We hiked right after heavy rain previous day, so we picked an easy trail.”

Wonderful service of hiking trails. We took the Anasazi Trail. 3 mile easy loop. Great views of Mt Elden and other peaks in the San Francisco range. Easy to find. Parking for a dozen cars at least. No public restrooms. Great place for a hike.

We wanted to go to for a little walk/hike when we were staying at the Flagstaff Fairfield Inn and we noticed this place was close so we came here and went around a nice loop close to sunset. We enjoyed the walk and the scenery of the forests. If you're in the area and walk to get some exercise, try it out.

Great beginner mountain biking spot! The trail system provides a great variety of distance, intensity, and loops that is fun for everyone! We love taking our 4 and 1 year old out here because it’s relatively mellow. There are two small technical sections going into the parking lot!

Beautiful trail, easy run, no vehicles. I included a picture from near the trail but not on the trail

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🔁 Loop trail 8 mentions

“I hiked the Anasazi loop and ended up tacking on the Sinagua loop after for a little boost.”
