Confirmed from Cane Creek Canyon Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Waterfall-heavy hiking spot featuring well-maintained trails, a blue hole and scenic views.

“Lots of cool stuff to see, easy trail directions, very clean and well kept place.”
One of the absolute most well run nature spots I've ever been to. All the trails are marked extremely well, including directions to several nearby points of interest at every intersection.
This is one of the best hiking spots in Alabama, especially for someone going solo. The trails are very well maintained and there’s lots to see from waterfalls to a scenic overlook. Lots of options for the day, from a picnic and swim with kids to a ten mile hike.
This is a truly amazing place. The couple who owns the property was so kind and helpful. They set me up with a nice 3.5 mile hike. Parts of the trail were steep and rocky, I hike often and found it somewhat challenging. But worth it! Beautiful views, so peaceful. Excellent signage and markers of where to go.
Awesome hiking. My 6 year old son and I did a 3 mile loop. We saw the waterfall and fern cave. Highly recommend this place if you enjoy hiking and nature.
Trail conditions & character
“There’s bluff’s, waterfalls, a dramatic vista with plenty of learning, seeing and hopefully understanding in between.”
“They have bathrooms and water coolers at points along the trail, and the trails are extremely well maintenaned while not taking away from the natural beauty whatsoever.”
“The routes were well marked out, there was fresh water available all along the way, and lots of well kept restroom stops.”
“The reason for four stars instead of five is when we got there, the parking lot area and even during part of our hike, it smelled so so bad.”
