Confirmed from Carle Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This 11-acre park offers walking paths, a playground, a pavilion, a Lincoln statue & more.

“Plenty of space with lots of shaded areas.”
“A surprising little gem tucked away in a quiet corner of the Champaign Urbana area.”
Beautiful trees in a park tucked back in a quaint Urbana neighborhood. Plenty of space with lots of shaded areas. Has a sand volleyball court, walking paths, and two playgrounds - one for older kids and one for younger kids.
A surprising little gem tucked away in a quiet corner of the Champaign Urbana area. A beautiful pavilion and awesome play area for the little ones. Trees are all labeled for a short but well informed nature walk around the park.
The hickman treewalk is very nice. The overall vibes of the park were good. Perfect for a first date because you can sit/walk and talk.
Historic neighborhood park with lovely trees, a playground, and benches scattered throughout. Go to Urbana Park District website for a PDF of the Hickman Tree Walk with leaf diagrams for trees in the park. Street parking. Photos shown are from mid-October early morning.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
