Confirmed from Crystal Lake Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Beautiful park, with nice paved walking areas, lagoons, bridges, picnic areas and playgrounds for families. Very nice place to walk for exercise or just to sit by the water and enjoy the serenity. Nice place to get some nature photography also.

★★★★☆ — Gary , Nov 2023

A large municipal park with an aquatic center, a nature center, a mature forest, a lake house, reservable shelters, and most other amenities typically available in most municipal parks.

I almost go to this place everyday or at least every week as always because I live near by. It is a great place to killing time or just break from my busy time of remote work, to get a fresh air. Walking around this place is my favorite. Also love the Busey Wood trail. Such a blessing for me to live near this place.

They are clearing out a lot of the invasive honeysuckle and brush and it's really opened up the park. I hope they continue to manage it better for the water quality as well. Nice trails and nice open areas to throw a frisbee, and a surprisingly good birding spot (before the brush removal though).

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
