Confirmed from Carolina Thread Trail Suspension Bridge's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Carolina Thread Trail Suspension Bridge

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (23 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“Beautiful easy walking trail, metal suspension to cross which marks the end of pavement and the rest of a great maintained dirt trail along the river.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“We went there sometime between 2pm-4pm on Sunday and it wasn’t not crowded at all.”

Very well built suspension trail over the First Broad River. The bridge is very safe and secured. Our dog was so scared to walk on at first but then she got accustomed. We went there sometime between 2pm-4pm on Sunday and it wasn’t not crowded at all. Go enjoy this man made beauty.

Great trail and fun bridge. My pup found it a lil scary at first but safely (albeit reluctantly) made it across both ways 🙂

Was back open after winter flood repairs but Helene tore it to pieces again! Should be and was a great place to enjoy a relaxing walk in nature and experience the local fauna, flora, a lovely river and formerly easily accessed trail! Dog pick-up bags provided for canine companionship!

Great walk. Not too busy at this time. Bring your own water and pee before you start. Watch for the fairy house on the side toward the river.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
