We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Cascade Falls Trailhead yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Short walk through redwood trees along a creek to a cascading waterfall.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 16 mentions

“From here we can take a drive to Muir Beach or Muir Woods National Monuments which is very beautiful but we need to book a parking permit in advanced.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 7 mentions

“We headed to Cascade Falls after a trip to the Mill Valley Library, it's a perfect 20-minute walk (one way) through a super nice, quiet neighborhood.”

This is a super easy hike to the falls from the trailhead, but there is only enough parking for three or four vehicles. Instead, park near the Old Mill Park; there's a couple of picnic tables at the park if you want to have a snack before your walk.

Absolutely beautiful walk. It’s a lovely small trail that took us under 10 minutes to the waterfall from where we parked. After the water fall we came back down and took the small trail across the road which was also small but very nice. It has a few pool holes where people were also enjoying the water.

Short but easy and beautiful hike. Very peaceful and quiet, which made the scenery all the more beautiful. Summer is a good time to hike this way for some peace and quiet, but I'd like to see the differences here in the fall. Waterfall was good to see, and as a small bonus, the trail had a couple of small waterfalls.

Super easy to walk to and such wonderful clean and cold water. There is a couple places at the top of the falls to dip your toes and breathe in the smells of the redwood forest. No bathroom access, from the parking lot which holds at most 5 cars.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
