Confirmed from Cedar Valley Nature Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Flat trail on a former railroad bed for biking, walking and jogging.
What runners say about Cedar Valley Nature Trail
“This spot specifically is surrounded with shrubbery and has a very nice, well-kept restroom.”
“Great paved trail for walking, running, biking, & roller blading.”
“Rode from Hiawatha to Urbana and loved the shade, creeks and many birds.”
“It's always in great shape and usually not crowded.”
Took my bike the entire trail. My favorite part is the section from La Porte city to Brandon. The scenery is absolutely breath taking in the fall! 10/10 (just be sure to take plenty of water is there isn't really anywhere to fill up, except a spigot in la porte city)
Nice trail, trees line much of the way with convenient places to stop. The fallen tree was cleared by the time I turned around a couple hours later.
There were plenty of birds to watch. I haven't seen so many cardinals in one place before! Perfect habit for birds, squirrels and even saw some rabbits. Deer, opossum, racoons maybe when there's no people around. Found a big beautiful oak tree on the trail.
Beautiful. Good surface. It can get busy on the stretch from Boyson to Otter. Thins out after that. A nice canopy exists after Alice Rd. Love that section of the trail. There's a lot of wildlife. If you ride close to the edge of paved surface watch out for chipmunks and rabbits that might panic and get in the way.
