Confirmed from Central Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Dramatic scenery of the full moon rising over the Mission Peak Pole, Mission Peak and Mission Rolling Hills as seen from the Central Park. The beautiful Ohlone College campus, Vargas Plateau Regional Park, Mission Peak, Mount Allison and Monument Peak are in the background.

The park was absolutely beautiful, and it provided a fantastic experience, especially in the early evening. Finding it was a breeze, and there was ample parking available. I particularly enjoyed the small dock area and the various water activities offered. The weather was delightful with sunshine and a pleasant breeze.

Sprawling park by the lakeside with plenty of space and amenities to relax and enjoy with family/friends. This is a definite go to place in the Bay area if you wish to spend some quality time with family and friends. Many play places with amenities for children are available in different areas of the park.

It was a lovely 4 km around the lake 'Walk in the Park' with my brother who works on his fitness daily. It was a great evening. Need to plant more trees. A 🚂🚋🚃🚋🚃🚋🚃 passing by was a bonus. The hills nearby completes the bounties.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
