BLM land. Trails, roads all through the petrified ranges lining the highway. Pulled over for another view of the massive trees from millions of years ago, hadn't realized we parked right next to one! 💖 A couple photos show a desert sheep. Timing was everything here
Wife and I decided to do a little hike, we could have not picked a better place to do it. It was cool and windy but did not take away from the experience. I climbed to the top of one of the plateau and got some great pics. Trails goes on for miles and did not have a lot of time today so I will be back.
Great hiking spot, my family loves to come out here. It would be hard to find anything to complain about in this place, maybe just wish the tiny maps on the trail markers were better. This place is like falling into a painting of the desert.
First visit and likely not last. I came here today to ride my mtb around monolith trail. It did not disappoint. However the livestock had a tendency to stare me down. Some had a good set of horns on them! A unisex restroom is on site but don't expect the Taj inside. Great trails and plenty of signage for directions.
