Confirmed from Chatlain Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Chatlain Park
“I had a nice walk with my dog and it is a very clean park.”
“The area is very beautiful, and we enjoyed our visit thanks to 2 younger ladies who allowed my son to swing with them on what I say is kinda like a se saw swing 😀.”
“We loved the fact that everything was shaded, there was electricity, a huge grill was available, the playground equipment was great and there was a port a potty near.”
A very nice park to walk your dog or go for a bike ride. They have bike tools if you get a flat. I the paths along the creek.
I stumbled across this hidden gem the other day. there's a neat playground, a walking trail with mile markers(part of the Turkey Creek Trail), a shelter, a portable restroom, drinking fountains & bicycle tools. The only thing I didn't like was the traffic noise from Shawneemsnpkwy. 4*Stars
I feel like this needs two types of review: one for walkers, one for cyclists. If you're a cyclist, 5/5. Good resting spot, the fountain has never been broken in my experience. For anybody else, the fact that the park is geographically in a basin means that drainage is just never enough in storm.
Love this park. It's got a playground and a little river or creek or whatnot that runs past it with a super nice and clear walking/jogging trail that winds all down the Merriam area.
