Confirmed from Chessie’s Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Kid-friendly park featuring a playground and paved trail with animal sculptures and musical instruments for kids.
What runners say about Chessie’s Trail
“So clean, well laid out and so many interesting spots to keep my grandkids from ages 8 months to 11 yrs old.”
Just about 0.7 miles long but OH SOOO ENTERTAINING for your little ones! There are instruments everywhere and just the sound of other kids playing makes them so curious. It is also very well maintained and so easy to walk.
Great trail! Loved it. There's a few different paths & it's difficult to get lost.
Awesome trail that gently slopes. Wood planks were used to make an even surface perfect for wheelchairs or strollers. There is also animal statues that you find throughout the trail. It’s right next to an awesome playground. I took my nephew here and we did the trail twice and the playground god a couple of hours.
Awesome trail for toddlers. Short (less than a mile), only slight slope, paved (i.e. easy for stumbly walkers), and fun things to do along the trail. My 4 and 2 yr old adored it! Nearby playground is also pretty awesome
