Confirmed from Childers Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Fenced dog park featuring an obstacle course, plus a playground.
What runners say about Childers Park
“I had a (great) date here over the weekend, and the park is very clean and well maintained.”
“Fenced-in dog park is small, but nicely tucked amongst all trees for shade.”
“You'll find a human and dog friendly fountain near the entrance.”
Loved the easy access and nice walking side walks. Lights were beautiful and perfect size walking trail for small ones to enjoy the lights. Could only be better if there was a way to add Christmas music playing as you walked it.
Nice little trail. Little dog park. Has slides for kids. And christmas lights
Childer's Park is an excellent place to walk your dogs considering it's a dog park it has a great big fenced-in areas to let your dogs run and also. Fire hydrants conveniently located for your dogs to pee on I love the park and it's a great neighbor considering I live right next to it they're doing a little bit more…
Park is small; nice; clean. No signs .. just let your intuition guide you. Fenced-in dog park is small, but nicely tucked amongst all trees for shade.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadwater — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
