Confirmed from City Of Gonzales Dog Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Pet playground featuring separate areas for big and small dogs.
What runners say about City Of Gonzales Dog Park
“Even though it's not the largest dog park, the grass was well kept, and the flooding/mud wasn't too bad.”
“People there were super friendly and the dogs loved playing with the other dogs.”
I visited today with my 9.5 year old Siberian Husky just after a rain storm. Even though it's not the largest dog park, the grass was well kept, and the flooding/mud wasn't too bad.
Great dog park. Has small fenced in area for small dogs as well. Water and waste disposal available. Nice paved track for walking while your dogs play. Benches all around the park. It's located directly behind Jambalaya park in Gonzales.
Pretty decent dog park. There’s a fenced in area for dogs 30 lbs or less. I gave it 4 stars because one out of the two dog water fountains were broken and there’s fire ant hills everywhere, so beware of that. Another thing is that people should really have enough decency to pick up after their pets.
Clean area for you and your furbabies. Fenced in area, even has a fire hydrant in the center of the yard. Just bring your lil' bags and clean after your pets. Seems to be a safe place for anyone to walk their dogs and have a place to sit and just enjoy the outdoors.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadwater — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
