Confirmed from Highland Road Community Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 8 mentions

“It was a beautiful room, the perfect size, and was very inexspencize for the amount of time given.”

Awesome park with much to do here. There is a nice play ground, a splash pad area, disc golf, nature trails anduch more. The beautiful scenery alone will distract you enough to enjoy yourself.

This Park is huge it's on both sides of Highland Road one day I'm going to try to walk the whole park this is just a little part of the park

We have found the perfect place for my daughters baby shower. Highland Road Community Park located at 14024 Highland Road, Baton Rouge has it all. Walking and biking trails, beautiful pavilions for picnics and cookouts. They have 2 disc golf courses, a big and spacious children's covered playground pavillion.

Very nice, well manicured community park. There's tennis, splash park for toddlers, frisbee golf, walking, jogging, picnicing, quiet place for studying, bird watching, squirrels, little creeks with fish!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Highland Road Community Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
