Confirmed from City Of Muskegon Lakeshore Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park popular for walking, biking, and festivals.
What runners say about City Of Muskegon Lakeshore Trail
“The bike trail in Muskegon is beautiful !”
“Great trail for biking, running, and walking.”
The bike trail in Muskegon is beautiful ! I would recommend that you launch your bikes at the North Muskegon trail head located across from the Rite Aid store on Lake Street. Then proceed to the boardwalk that parallels the causeway past the power plant.
The trail itself is actually pretty nice. It's great for a leisurely ride or walk. The areas it goes through are what it make it what it is. You get a lot of great scenery and great places to stop. The only downsides, it can flood over after rains and has several blind corners.
The best lakefront trail in West Michigan - many fishing spots and benches. Just pick up after your dog.
Trail conditions & character
