Confirmed from Clabber Creek Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“A great place to stretch legs and practice bike riding for all ages.”

We enjoy this trail for a fairly leisurely stroll with the toddler. A great place to stretch legs and practice bike riding for all ages. It is fairly quiet and largely shaded which is nice.

★★★★★ — Douglas , Jul 2021

Nice clean quiet trail. Good for a run or bike if you're looking for a concrete paved trail. I would recommend it for kids. The path under the bridge gets a little muddy after big rains.

★★★★★ — David , Jun 2019

This is a great trail to walk your dog along a beautiful creek. It is a bottomland/floodplain ecosystem with many sycamore, ash, honeylocust, willow, and hackberry trees. There are many birds in spots, beaver dams, and other interesting wildlife habitats. This is an important ecosystem. Easy walk flat and paved.

★★★★★ — John , Feb 2024

Elevated trail through a wetland and wet Prarie. Lots of wildflowers and deer.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Clabber Creek Trail

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
