Confirmed from Columbia Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Sprawling park with playgrounds, a trail and courts for basketball and volleyball.
What runners say about Columbia Park
“It needs a little maintenance but its still nice & peaceful.”
This park amazing not only it has a walk path gym field playground and more it also is by an amazing river that's lovely to sit by whenever there is also a punching bag by the river 👌
One of the best in Hammond. Parking is available. Also a walking path for running or bike riding. The playground equipment is in great shape and plenty of space for the kids to play. Also there is adult equipment for a light workout. Simple love this park...
Huge beautiful park that is usually very peaceful. The city just put in a walking or bike path with new toys for the kids and im not sure but it looks like weight machines to use. Very nice park.
Great park. Had a great time with my girlfriend, had a picnic, walked around the trail, I love taking my nieces and nephews here as well, they always have a great time.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
