Confirmed from Gibson Woods Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Large, lush area featuring hiking trails, 160+ species of birds & an environmental center.
What runners say about Gibson Woods Nature Preserve
“When all the leaves grow back in the spring/summer, this place should be even more beautiful!”
“I totally recommend this place to any and all ages of nature lovers!”
I literally stumbled upon this wonderful nature preserve while recycling paper ..it's tucked behind a school at the end of a neighborhood.. perfect trail for my needs, full of wildflowers and wildlife... the center is full of interesting local fossils and finds. The Mastodon bones are extremely nice to see.
Nice place for a walk through the woods and see different kinds of birds.
We have done a couple of different nature walks here with the parks department. The nature center is very informative, as are the workers. They've all been very kind during our experiences. The bird room here is absolutely delightful also. I totally recommend this place to any and all ages of nature lovers!
So glad this place is close by! The lady there was very nice and knowledgeable. We explored the inside of the small museum and watched many different types of birds. It's free so it's definitely a nice place to visit when you're on a budget. The walk in the preserve was relaxing.
