Confirmed from Cos Cob Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (351 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

“There’s also a great pavilion for shade and clean public restrooms.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 14 mentions

“Small but very beautiful and relaxing park, watching the water and lots of benches to sit and enjoy the quietness.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 5 mentions

“I enjoy the calm open space this location offers!”

We find it interesting that you can go to so many different parks and in each you are transported to a completely different space. This power plant turned park is a good mix of views and practical park space, with a soccer field and a small playground but still an outdoor amphitheatre, walking paths by the ocean and a…

If it is a nice sunny day take a walk over to this 9/11 memorial included scenic park. There is a lovely wooden covered gazebo looking structure with 2x wooden benches that overlook the nicest view of the Cos Cob waters. Spent a lot of time over here during my young adolescent days in the summers.

This hidden gem has something for everyone! The park itself sits on the Cos Cob Harbor with views of some of the most beautiful mansions in Greenwich! Walking/Running Trails, wildflowers, sports fields, a large playground and a beautiful 9/11 tribute monument which depicts the names of the area residents that perished…

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Cos Cob Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
