Confirmed from Crandall Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Wooded park featuring a playground, a swimming pond and tennis courts, plus baseball and basketball fields.
What runners say about Crandall Park
“Well maintained throughout the year too!”
“If you live close they have a beautiful community garden which I made sure to photograph the contact info for.”
“A great quiet early morning hike, beautiful woods, hills, rocky outcroppings on the red trail.”
“All are easy hikes/walks but some areas were slippery and icy and I wish I had worn my microspikes or snow shoes.”
Nice walks through the trees, park goes back a long way so some of the paths can take an hour or so to do. Nice playing fields and beach area for families. Well maintained year round.
The baseball field had a game in play with plenty of attendance giving the park a bit of cheerful sound. Although I didn't have much time to spend, I only stopped to waste about 20 minutes while waiting for someone, I was able to cover the general area of the park without actually walking it.
We did the hiking trails that were located at Crandall III and most of the trails were marked, some were not. It was serene, peaceful, and very rocky. Make sure that you pay attention to where you're walking.
I live just down the street and either walk down pretty drive down to the park for my son to play on the playground or to run the trails. The playground is pretty fun, even for toddlers. The trails are pretty extensive and form several loops. The trails are fairly rocky and there are a number of challenging hills.

“The playground is nice there is not a fence on the road side so make sure to watch kids chasing after balls that roll down the hill.”

“The turn for the trailhead is not marked at the street, so you need to make a right at the Lodge right before the bridge.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
