Confirmed from Creekside Reserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Creekside Reserve

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (218 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 9 mentions

“There's a surprising amount of wildlife back there and it is beautiful at all times of the year.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 6 mentions

“Both Creekside trails are seldom used so they are very peaceful.”

Loved this little hiking area. I parked in the parking lot of the Community Park and crossed the street following the paved trail. It loops around past a school. You'll see signage, and after a little bit you'll get to the trails.

So in order to get to the Creekside trail, the more habitat area of wildlife ( in efforts to hike ) what you have to do is take the trail going towards the right heading towards the U-Haul company. You will take a paved road for a little bit of the way to like .2.

★★★★★ — Jeremy , May 2024

Handy little trail system right off the bike path. I used to live nearby and enjoyed the option of riding off the paved path onto gravel or even farther off the beaten path on some dirt trails. There's a surprising amount of wildlife back there and it is beautiful at all times of the year. But don't expect too much.

★★★★☆ — Ryan , Dec 2020

It was fun, found some birds like woodpeckers, blue jays, cardinals, songbirds, sparrows but none of the birds they said would be there. Saw a cute chipmunk eating a berry and 2 deer along with finding a bunch of painted rocks hidden around the opposite side from the parking lot. Walked 4.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
