Confirmed from Crescent Trail: Lyndon Road Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Crescent Trail: Lyndon Road Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (34 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🪧 well-marked 2 mentions

“Lovely foliage, well-marked and maintained.”

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“Great place to get a quick easy hike or run in”

Good roadside parking to access the Crescent Trail or the Erie Canal. The Cresent trail goes off in both directions from this trailhead. You can walk to White Brook Nature Area or to High Acres. If walking toward WBNA during spring or after heavy rain, watch your footing on the boardwalk section.

Lovely foliage, well-marked and maintained. Some roots, so watch your step. A few slight inclines. Some variation in terrain - gravel, rocks, a few cuts through lawns. The trail gets a bit narrow at points. Would definitely keep dogs on a leash, teens would do ok but I’m not sure little kids would do well.

The trailhead is very nice access to the crescent trail. I often do the loop orange to blue and back on yellow which is 4 miles.

★★★★★ — Chris , Dec 2021

The trail is great trail for beginners. You can do a relatively short loop or stretch a hike out to 4 miles if you have a map or know your way around. You need to keep aware of bicycles, on the yellow trail, mostly. Sometimes the bikers go a bit fast around blind corners. It is a shared trail.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
