The D & L is a GREAT series of trails for walking, jogging or riding a bike. Beautiful scenery. Depending, there are shaded areas and sunny areas. Some have very welcome port-a-potties at a trailhead. Snow removal depends on the trail. Always plenty of free parking.
Not the most scenic place to access the D&L trail. Has plenty of parking, there is 2 other lots it can get really busy on hot days with everyone going tubing down the river. I like to go "North" on the trail (towards Walnutport) then you can visit the old dam and there is a picnic table. apx 1/2 mile.
Highly recommended! Started my bike ride here up to Slatington that is a five miles distance north. Trail is packed crush stone along the Lehigh river that is easy to navigate, primality flat, tree lined to help cool off on hot days.
Good access point for the D&L trail. Plenty of parking, but hot summer weekends are quite crowded because of people accessing the Lehigh River. The section of the trail going North (upriver) from here is very pretty.
