Confirmed from DeCoursey Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about DeCoursey Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (673 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 6 mentions

“Nice little park with a good play area (was clean when we were there), quite a few branches on the walking paths and good scenery overall.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“I'd say this play place is mid size, but the expanse around it is large and beautiful.”

This is a beautiful little park. It has a fun play area for children that includes a climbing toy with a slide. A great walking path through an enchanted walkway to a pond and bridge. There is a large open grass area for picnics or playing.

One of my favorite dog walks. You can start at DeCoursey, walk around the pond, cross the street and go into Clark Creek park...meander around there, and come back. My dog likes to take a cool off in the creek before we head home.

This place is great. There’s a decent playground with a fun climbing toy that even I enjoy. There’s several covered tables for having a party. I believe reservations are possible, but I’m not sure. There’s a small pond that has a path all the way around it with a bridge and some platforms, which seem to be for fishing.

★★★★★ — Chris , Feb 2024

There's a wonderful gravel path where you cross two little bridges, can access two docks, and the pond's edge. You can't feed the ducks, but they are very lively and fun to watch. There are many benches to sit and rest, and covered picnic tables.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
