My wife and I took the Railroad Trail and River Overlook walk and it was awesome! It is built on the old abandoned railroad track that existed around statehood. The views are SWEET! and we saw an armadillo! Can’t wait to see it in the fall!
Good place for birding. Please be extra careful of mosquitoes. The board walk and the area is full of mosquitoes.. be aware to put extra mosquito repellent, and choose your clothing wisely. This is the situation during summer and spring. Not sure about fall and winter.
First of all, let me just say that their sign that says “poisonous snakes” is incorrect. It’s actually *venomous* snakes. But, with that technicality out of the way, this is one of the better natural areas I’ve been for the general public’s purposes.
